Sustainable Design

Sustainable design has long been a part of our practice at Equus Design Group. Since 1977, when we designed Massachusetts’ first publicly sponsored passive solar trombe wall in Cambridge, we have developed an approach to design that balances economic efficiency, environmental harmony and social benefit. Our most successful projects integrate energy and materials solutions to provide healthy, comfortable and productive environments.

Our commitment to sustainability engages us with our clients in new ways as we introduce them to the financial and operational benefits of green buildings, lower energy, reduced waste and water use, lower environmental and emissions costs, improved operations and maintenance, and most importantly increased productivity from a healthier workspace.

We are members of the Environmental League of Massachusetts and the U. S. Green Building Council.
